The following picture shows the destructive force of  a pine tree that was pushed over during a hurricane. The owners were in their bed when the tree hit. They were lucky to escape serious injury as large limbs pierced the bed all around them. You can see how the roof has collapsed. You can't see the left side of the house, but the shear force of the tree pushed most of the brick off, broke the concrete footing, and racked the entire wall.
