Water damage restoration  requires specialized training to prevent secondary damage of both structure and contents. In a water damage claim, rapid response is critical. Most insurance policies require property owners to take necessary steps to prevent the damage from spreading. Step 1 in handling a water damage claim is calling your insurance company and notifying  them of the claim. Step 2  would be to call an experienced water damage remediation contractor. Failure to do this often results in more extensive damage than would have occurred if the water damage were properly mitigated. If left alone water migrates into areas not  affected by the original water intrusion. The project superintendent for a new condo project in Emerald Isle was making his rounds when he discovered that someone had left a water hose running on the forth floor, flooding 12 luxury condominiums. He calls Tyson Construction. Within one hour they had men on the job and worked until 7:30 the next morning extracting water and setting up drying equipment. Their quick response time saved thousands of dollars worth of expensive trim and cabinets.

The condominiums shown below are located between Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle. In 2003 a Hurricane ripped part of the roof off of one building exposing it to the rain. Wind driven rain penetrated through windows and doors in other buildings. The result was well over $500,000 worth of water damage.

The Property Owners Association called TCR to do the restoration work and they were glad they did. With close to 200 units damaged they needed a contractor that was large and experienced enough to ensure the job was completed before the busy summer season began.

It takes an experienced water damage specialist to find all the areas where water may have migrated  and prevent future hidden damage.
